History

Moisari (მოისარი) is the Georgian word for an archer, from isari, arrow. The bow (მშვილდი) was one of the main weapons of Georgian armies through the Middle Ages.

It stayed in use beside the musket for a long time, above all in the mountains, where hunters kept it for both game and war.
